he current voting system, which supports vote-buying, demagogy and outright fraud, needs to be reformed. Knowledge, merit, expertise, these are what matter. Until this is achieved, society will be carrying a common disease from which traditional methods will never cure it.
Of course, the current system is adored by the political parties, because it serves only to keep them and the interest groups behind them as stable as possible.
As a minor sidenote, in the so-called liquid democracy that has been invented with good intentions to patch up democracy, the vote-delegation nonsense would raise the abuse of votes to a level that would significantly further destroy democracy's credibility.
