Technology is great on its own, but when it's in the hands of autocrats, it's not so much of a good deal. People are simply unaware of what they are already risking by deepening these systems. Later, in a few decades' time, they will be practically irremovable, because they will provide themselves with the conditions to rule through unimaginable technological solutions and the self-appointed elite will be able to live off them for generations unremittingly. As the age of the population is expected to increase, it is easy to imagine the stomach-churning future that the careless voter will bring upon himself.
