Through reading and being informed, a very useful quality is imparted to a child: the ability to participate better and more effectively in a debate, to find solutions to everyday problems and, last but not least, to be more difficult to fool. The problem is that our world is full of people who specialise in deceiving their fellow human beings, and if we only develop our ability to dare to suspect, to dare to question, we can have a much more normal life. Reading and learning from multiple sources is a great help in this.
